Warm Up For Fall With Cinnamon Sticks!

As cooler evenings begin to settle in and fall approaches, Cinnamon sticks are a wonderful way to bring warmth and seasonal flavor into your kitchen. Their sweet, woody aroma slowly infuses warming drinks and autumn desserts, creating the comforting scent and taste we love most about the season.

Here are two easy recipes to help you enjoy the warming benefits of Cinnamon as the weather cools down:

Warm Cinnamon Apple Cider

Ingredients:

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Warm over low heat for 15โ€“20 minutes, without allowing the cider to boil. Remove the cinnamon sticks and cloves, then serve warm.

Cinnamon-Spiced Baked Apples

Ingredients:

  • 4 baking apples
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ยผ cup brown sugar
  • ยผ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ยฝ cup apple cider

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF. Core the apples and place them in a baking dish. Mix the brown sugar and nuts, then spoon the mixture into each apple. Add a cinnamon stick and a little butter to the center of each one. Pour the cider into the bottom of the dish. Cover and bake for 30โ€“40 minutes, or until tender. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whip cream for a delicious treat.
